Linda + Peter :: San Juan Capistrano Engagement

Linda + Peter are self-proclaimed nerds but really, they’re just two goofy smarty pants! They met during undergrad years at UCLA and their love story is pretty much how all love stories go: boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, girl already has a boyfriend…oopssss!!! They maintained a platonic relationship for years while Peter secretly harbored his crush. When Linda was single and ready to mingle again, Peter was sure luck was finally on his side. But nope, Linda had other ideas and wasn’t ready to be tied down to another relationship quite yet. Frustrated but not one to give up easily, Peter kept his eyes on the prize and after giving him the runarounds for another year, Linda finally surrendered her heart to him. Awwwwwwww. On one of their first dates, they went to Disneyland, the happiest place on earth…and so of course they ought to live happily ever after.

I’ve known Linda for years now and I swear we’re kindred spirits because: 1) she loves lists and schedules 2) she imposes self-banned in order to get stuff done (hello…I went 2 years without watching TV while in grad school) 3) she loves food. While we were driving around San Juan Capistrano looking for a scenic photo spot, we decided that we were hungry and ended up spending the next hour pigging out…before ever snapping a single picture! Future clients, please take note haha jk! 😉

Linda + Peter, we are so lucky to call you friends, and we are honored that you have complete trust in us to capture your special day. Now, let’s start counting down to May 23, 2015!!!

Black & White Wedding Photography

I love me a black & white portrait. What is it about this simplicity that can evoke such strong feelings of intimacy, elegance, and anticipation…?!? Despite all her jitters, Ivy simply couldn’t wait to see her groom. 😉

Janice + Jeff :: Balboa Park & Coronado Beach Maternity Photos

It’s always a real pleasure when longtime friends trust me to document such important milestones in their lives. San Diego is home to J + J (and their soon-to-be-baby-J) so hubby and I made our way there a few weeks ago to photograph Janice and her beautiful belly. 😉  And really, a trip to San Diego is not complete without a stop at Phil’s BBQ but let’s not talk about that now because I might start drooling all over my keyboard.

We have recently started to experiment with film photography and the images below are from our very first roll of film (developed and scanned by Richard Photo Lab). I love the creamy and pastel tones of film and look forward to learning and shooting more film in the future!

Janice and Jeff, you are two amazingly kind, smart, and caring individuals…and I already know that baby J will be surrounded by so much love. I can’t wait for his joyous arrival (and then you guys can start working on baby #2!) 😉
